Cam Newton
Cam Newton began his college football career at the University of Florida and Blinn College before ing Auburn University in 2010. After the quarterback led the Tigers to a victory in the 2011 BCS National Championship, the Heisman Trophy winner became the No. 1 overall pick of the 2011 NFL Draft via the Carolina Panthers.
Newton spent the first nine seasons of his NFL career in Charlotte, earning Offensive Rookie of the Year, three division titles, and four playoff appearances. Notably, in 2015, he led the Panthers to a Super Bowl 50 appearance and earned league MVP honors in the process. In 2018 and 2019, Newton had injury-shortened seasons, eventually g as a free agent with the New England Patriots in July 2020. Amidst COVID-19 concerns and declining performances, Newton was released in August 2021. He signed a one-year deal to return to the Panthers two months later.
