The 2025 Zurich Classic of New Orleans will tee off this week from TPC Louisiana. The annual team event hosted on the PGA Tour will feature 80 teams fighting for a $9.2 million purse.

This weekend, the format will differ as teams will be expected to play two rounds of four-ball and foursomes. The 2025 Zurich Classic is highlighted by Rory McIlroy, who makes his first appearance since winning the Masters two weeks ago. McIlroy teams up once again with Shane Lowry as they look to defend their title.

Zurich Classic 2025 Format

The field will be divided into 80 teams, and players can choose their partners. The Zurich Classic will feature four rounds, and teams will compete in fourballs (best balls) in rounds 1 and 3 and foursomes (alternate shot) in rounds two and four.

Despite being in a team format, there is still a cut. The top 33 teams with ties after the first 36 holes will advance to Saturday and Sunday.

Zurich Classic 2025 Purse

While the Zurich Classic isn’t a signature event, TPC Louisiana still has a lot on the line. The winning team will receive a two-year exemption on the Tour and automatic spots at the PGA Championship, along with next year’s Sentry and Players Championship.

While no Official World Golf Ranking points are given, both players will collect an official Tour win. There’s a $9.2 million purse on the line this weekend. The winning team’s share is $2,658,800, and the individual payout is $1,329,400. Each team will also be splitting the FedEx Cup points.
