There were two Baltimore Ravens stars who just missed out on an NFL honor this year, but were Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry snubbed at the awards?

Lamar Jackson snubbed?

The general consensus ahead of Thursday night’s NFL honors was that Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen were the only two players who stood a chance at winning the MVP award.

Although there was no real signs of who would take home the award, the betting and fans suggested that Baltimore Ravens superstar Lamar Jackson would be taking home his third title.

However it was Buffalo’s Josh Allen who was crowned regular season MVP which is something that surprised the Bills quarterback along with most ers watching on.

“I was pretty surprised, yeah,” Allen said after being crowned MVP. “Given what we know about how typically voting goes. Lamar was very deserving of this award as well. I’ve got nothing but love and respect for his game. He’s a great steward of the game, and every time we share a field, I’m very fortunate to be mentioned in the same breath as him.”

The two quarterback’s were so close in regular season statistics that it became hard to separate them in the voting.

Although Allen is a more than worthy winner of the MVP award, Jackson edged the Buffalo quarterback in almost every statistic apart from rushing touchdowns and regular season record.

Having already won two MVP awards in his young career, perhaps Jackson’s snub was due to his previous success in the NFL Honors.

Saquon Barkley pips Derrick Henry to award

It wasn’t just Baltimore’s quarterback who was snubbed to an award on Thursday night, but Jackson’s teammate Derrick Henry can’t have many complaints about not being crowned Offensive Player of the Year.

Henry was just pipped to the award by the only other player in the league who recorded more rushing yards than himself as Saquon Barkley hit the 2,000 yard mark for the first time in his career.

Barkley didn’t appear on the night to accept his award, with all eyes on Super Bowl LIX which is coming up in New Orleans this weekend.

Although he recorded a franchise record 16 rushing touchdowns for 1,921 yards in the 2024 season, Henry only finished fourth in the voting behind Barkley, teammate Jackson and triple crown winner Ja’Marr Chase.
