If anyone knows a thing or two about sliding in the draft, it’s the GOAT. During a recent podcast appearance, 2025 NFL Draft.

Tom Brady’s Advice To Shedeur Sanders

Sanders’ slide was one of the top stories of the 2025 NFL Draft. After some projections had Sanders going in the first round, the quarterback was not selected until the Cleveland Browns used their fifth-round pick (No. 144) on him.

During the 1999 NFL Draft, Brady sat even longer than Sanders, going to the New England Patriots in the sixth round (No. 199).

While speaking on the Impaulsive podcast, Brady told Sanders to not worry about the draft anymore because the real work now begins.

“I actually texted Shedeur because I know him very well,” Brady said. “And I said, ‘Dude, whatever happens, wherever you go, that’s your first day. Day 2 matters more than the draft.’ I was 199. So who can speak on it better than me? Like what that really means. Use it as motivation, you’re going to get your chances and go take advantage of it.”

When Brady revealed he did not participate in the evaluation process, Impaulsive host Mike Majlak quoted Skip Bayless, who accused Brady of telling the Las Vegas Raiders not to draft Sanders.

Brady, a minority owner with the Raiders, took offense to Bayless’ comments, saying, “That’s the problem with media, everyone can just say whatever the fuck they want and get away with it.

Brady believes the media used to have “integrity,” but not anymore.

Shedeur Sanders Will Wear Tom Brady’s Number

While Abdul Carter struggles to pick a number with the Giants, Sanders has his number with the Browns.

Sanders will wear No. 12, the number worn by Brady during his 23-year career.

Dillion Gabriel, the other quarterback selected by the Browns, will wear No. 5.
