After three straight pars on holes No. 14-16, Woods ended his round with two bogeys at No. 17 and No. 18 to finish at 8-over.

Barring a sensational round on Friday, Woods will likely miss the cut at the Open Championship.

Heading into the second round, the project cut line is at 3-over, with 81 players eligible to play over the weekend. The Open Championship takes the top 70 players, plus ties.

To even give himself a chance, Woods will likely need to shoot at least 4-under on Friday.

Woods is in danger of missing his third straight cut from a major, a feat he only previously happened in 2015.

Woods missed the cut at the 2024 PGA Championship and the 2024 U.S. Open. However, Woods did extend his record-breaking cuts-made streak at the Masters to 24.
