Tiger Woods continues to mourn the death of his mother Kultilda Woods who ed away suddenly on February 4, 2025, at the age of 78.  Before her ing, Woods planned to play this week’s Genesis Invitational, a tournament he hosts.  Tiger Woods understandably changed course on the decision to play citing that he was not prepared to play under the circumstances even though his mom would have wanted him to do so.

To honor Kultilda, a subtle and meaningful touch has been added to Torrey Pines, the tournament’s home this year.  It could be missed by the naked eye or the television viewer not looking for it.

Another Possible Way Could Be In The Works To Honor Tiger’s Mom

There could be players donning Tiger’s signature red shirt on Sunday.  Kultilda introduced Tiger to the idea of wearing red while playing tournaments. She called it a power color.  Tiger did not immediately adopt her suggestion.  He experimented with wearing blue early in his career, but a winning streak with red changed his mind and ushered in the tradition.
