Stephen A. Smith To Appear On Law & Order

Smith is ready for his close-up.

The longtime ESPN host will appear on Law & Order Season 24, Episode 21, which will air on May 8.

Smith’s fate has already been determined: his character will die.

That’s not a spoiler, considering the episode synopsis reads, “A tough-love sports agent (Smith) is found stabbed to death, leaving the squad with a trail of suspects who wanted him gone. Despite a wealth of evidence, Price (Hugh Dancy) and Maroun (Odelya Halevi) worry that a lack of motive will tank their case.”

In an interview with TVLine, Smith revealed how he scored an acting gig on one of his “all-time favorite” shows.

“I have a place in California, and I was there on business,” Smith said. “I ran across a writer for Law & Order, her name is Pam Wechsler, and she said to me, ‘Oh my goodness, would you be available to do something for Law & Order?’ I said, ‘What? *The* Law & Order?!’ She was like, ‘Could you do that if we wrote something for you?’ I said, ‘Absolutely. Consider it done.'”

Smith originally wanted to play a lawyer, but he couldn’t find more time to film due to his busy schedule with the NBA playoffs.

Smith revealed it took two days to film his scenes.

While Smith’s character will die on Thursday night, the First Take host hopes he can return as another character and battle against the show’s top lawyers in the courtroom.

“I’ve seen characters on Law & Order die and then come back a different character,” Smith said. “So I’m not I’m not ruling out the possibility that you’ll see me in a courtroom for Law & Order somewhere in the future. I’m still holding out hope for that.”

Stephen A. Smith, The Actor

While Thursday marks his first appearance on Law & Order, Smith has experience acting.

The 57-year-old plays Brick, a recurring henchman, on ABC’s General Hospital.

Smith recently went viral after Brick killed a corrupt nurse on a recent episode.
