The redemption tour is complete.
Biles captured the gold medal in the Olympic All-Around Final on Thursday. Biles scored 59.131, just over a point better than Brazil’s Rebeca Andrade at 57.932.
This was the smallest margin of victory in a major international event since Biles won her third world championship in 2015.
Biles becomes the first American to win two Olympic All-Around titles. She s Larisa Latynina of the Soviet Union (1956, 1960) and Vera Caslavska of Czechoslovakia (1964, 1968) as the only women with Olympic All-Around gold medals.
With nine total medals, Biles is the most decorated American gymnast of all time. Biles will have a chance to win more medals in three event finals later this week.

After Thursday, no one female in American history has more Olympic medals than Ledecky.
Ledecky and her American teammates won the silver medal in Thursday’s 4×200-meter relay.
This marks the 13th medal of Ledecky’s career, making her the most decorated American female Olympian of all time.
Ledecky’s medal total: eight golds, four silvers, and one bronze. Ledecky is one gold shy of tying Latynina (9) for the most ever.
The 27-year-old swimmer from Stanford now has the most Olympic medals for any woman in swimming history, regardless of country. Only Michael Phelps (28) has more medals in swimming.
