Las Vegas Raiders Hire Pete Carroll As Next Head Coach

Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Carroll and the Raiders have agreed to a three-year deal.

After firing Antonio Pierce at the start of the offseason, Raiders owner Mark Davis elected to go with a proven commodity in Carroll instead of a young coordinator.

Carroll was the head coach of the Seattle Seahawks for 14 seasons from 2010 to 2023. Carroll and the Seahawks won Super Bowl XLVIII, the team’s lone championship in franchise history.

Carroll helped turn Seattle into a consistent playoff team, making 10 postseason appearances in 14 years.

Carroll went 137-89-1 in the regular season, with a 10-9 playoff record.

Carroll stepped down after the 2023 season and remained with the Seahawks organization in an advisor role. After one year away from the field, Carroll is back on an NFL sideline for the fourth time in his career.

Carroll also coached the New York Jets (1994) and New England Patriots (1997–1999).

In the early 2000s, Carroll coached USC and turned them into a powerhouse program, winning the title in 2004. Carroll is one of four coaches to win a Super Bowl and a college football national championship.
