After making a bold prediction, Paul Pierce made good on his word and walked to work following the New York Knicks’ victory over the Boston Celtics in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference semifinals.

Paul Pierce’s Prediction Goes Wrong

Pierce’s journey all started on Wednesday’s edition of Speak on FS1. When asked about his confidence in Boston heading into Game 2, the Celtics’ legend made a bold declaration.

“If the Celtics lose Game 2 at home, I promise you, I’m walking here tomorrow,” Pierce said. “I’m walking here, 15 miles. I’m walking here, in my robe, no shoes on, bare feet. I’m walking. I’m telling you right now, I’m taking this serious. I’m gonna be up at three. I guarantee this one. Put the house on this game. Put the house on it. No shot we lose. You got a better chance at walking out of this studio and seeing a dinosaur than seeing the Celtics losing.”

Fast forward to the game. After being down 20 points in the third quarter, the Knicks engineered another miraculous comeback to win 91-92 and take a 2-0 series lead.

Paul Pierce Honors Bet And Walks To Work

This morning, Pierce channeled his inner Forrest Gump.

Pierce took to the streets of Los Angeles to begin his 20.2-mile walk, which would take approximately eight hours.

Luckily for fans, Pierce documented most of the walk.

Technically, Pierce did not walk in a robe while barefoot. However, the NBA Hall of Famer did stay true to his word and walked to work, which deserves a lot of credit.

On his way to the Fox lot, Pierce’s former teammate Kevin Garnett drove by and told the FS1 host to “wear his seatbelt.”

We’ll see if Pierce has any more bold predictions for the Celtics ahead of Game 3 on Saturday afternoon.
