The biggest domino in free agency has fallen. Free agency forward Paul George is g with the Philadelphia 76ers, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported on Monday.

Paul George, 76ers Agree To Four-Year Deal

George is leaving the Los Angeles Clippers and g a four-year, $212 million maximum contract with the 76ers. George’s deal includes a player option in the final season in 2027-2028.

George, 34, departs from Los Angeles after spending the last five seasons with the Clippers. George was traded from the Oklahoma City Thunder to the Clippers during the 2019 offseason for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Danilo Gallinari, five first-round draft picks, and two first-round pick swaps.

With the Clippers, George made three All-Star teams and one All-NBA third team. Last season, George averaged 22.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 3.5 assists.

During George’s tenure, the Clippers made the Western Conference Finals once (2021). However, George’s tenure was clouded by injuries, especially those involving Kawhi Leonard.

Paul George Forms Big Three In Philadelphia

The 76ers now have a new big three with George, Tyrese Maxey, and Joel Embiid.

Earlier today, Maxey and the 76ers agreed to a five-year, $204 million maximum contract extension. The 76ers also re-signed Kelly Oubre and reached deals with Eric Gordon and Andre Drummond.

With George, the 76ers add a versatile two-way player who can guard all five positions and create his own offense. George gives the 76ers another wing to throw at Boston’s two-headed monster of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.

The 76ers have not made the Eastern Conference Finals since 2000-2001.
