NFL Draft 2025 Night 2: Three Landing Spots For Shedeur Sanders

One of the biggest storylines on the first night of the 2025 NFL Draft revolved around the fall of Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders. Despite being projected as the second quarterback in this year’s class, Sanders fell out of the first round, while Ole Miss’ Jaxson Dart became the second QB off the board behind Miami’s Cam Ward. Here are three landing spots for the quarterback heading into Day 2 of the 2025 NFL Draft.

Could Sanders be heading to Vegas?
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport believes the Raiders are a “realistic” landing spot for Sanders.
“The closest and most realistic landing spot for Shedeur Sanders is the Las Vegas Raiders early in the second round,” Rapoport said earlier today.
After trading for Geno Smith this offseason, the Raiders signed the former Seattle Seahawk to a two-year contract extension that keeps him in Vegas through the 2027 season.
Smith, 34, is considered a “good guy” in the league and could be the perfect veteran for Sanders.
The Raiders have the No. 37 pick (Round 2) and the No. 68 pick (Round 3).
Pittsburgh Steelers
Mel Kiper Jr. was VERY upset the Steelers did not take Shedeur Sanders at 21 Thursday night. 🤣😂 #Steelers #NFL pic.twitter.com/zHYZEyjNwB

The Pittsburgh Steelers had a chance to take Sanders at No. 21.
Instead, Pittsburgh selected Oregon defensive tackle Derrick Harmon to bolster the line.
The Steelers do not pick again until No. 83 (Round 3).
If Sanders continues to fall, does Pittsburgh pick up the phone and try to move up to get the Colorado quarterback in the second round?
Rapoport even suggested that Sanders could fall to the third round, meaning the Steelers would not have to move up to take him.

The Browns pulled off the biggest trade on the first night, moving to No. 5 after receiving a significant haul from the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Browns took Michigan defensive tackle Mason Graham at No. 5.
The Browns enter Day 2 of the NFL Draft with four picks: No. 33 (Round 2), No. 36 (Round 2), No. 67 (Round 3), and No. 94 (Round 3).
With Deshaun Watson set to miss most of the year with an Achilles injury, the Browns are looking at Kenny Pickett or Joe Flacco as their Week 1 starter.
The Browns need a third quarterback. Perhaps Cleveland could take Sanders and a running back with those two picks in the second round.
