NFL Draft 2025 Day 2: Three Landing Spots For Quinn Ewers

Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers was mostly ranked as a third-tier prospect at his position for the 2025 NFL Draft. But he could prove, with the right coaching and direction, to be an asset for a team down the road, and will likely be selected at some point during Day 2 of the selection process.

Los Angeles Rams
Possible Pick: 3rd Round, 90th overall
If Ewers is to land on a team and with a coach that can help develop him into an NFL quarterback, the Los Angeles Rams would be an obvious choice. They have Stetson Bennett as their current third option, and would be wise to pick someone else up to develop instead.
Ewers could even contend with Jimmy Garoppolo for the right to back up Matthew Stafford. If that were to be the case, then head coach Sean McVay would likely attempt to groom him to replace Stafford, who is 37 years old.
Arizona Cardinals
Possible Pick: 4th Round, 115th overall
The Arizona Cardinals brought in Jacoby Brissett to be their backup to Kyler Murray for 2025. He signed a two-year deal, but the team has a possible out after the campaign, and may decide to groom someone younger than 33 years old.
Starting as a third stringer wouldn’t be the worst case scenario for Ewers, especially if the second stringer is an aging veteran. Learning under both Brissett and Murray, who have wildly different play styles, would be beneficial for the rookie, and with the right development could become an asset for Arizona.

Las Vegas Raiders
Possible Pick: 4th Round, 135th overall
Another place where Ewers could potentially compete for a backup job is with the Las Vegas Raiders. Aidan O’Connell has gotten plenty of snaps in during his first two seasons, and has given below average results, especially in 2024. The rookie would come in and provide training camp competition immediately, and the tutelage of Pete Carroll would only help his career.
The Raiders’ current third option is Carter Bradley, who was signed as a rookie free agent last year. He hasn’t taken a snap in the NFL yet.
