Netflix has been teasing the Carlos Alcaraz “My Way” documentary for months, and it finally drops tomorrow, April 23, 2025.  This is a highly anticipated behind-the-scenes look at Alcaraz’s life and career.

Alcaraz himself added to the buzz by getting a temporary tattoo on his right arm with the release date.  That tattoo was first visible at Indian Wells.

Aside from the trailer, here is a preview of what we can expect.

1. Tennis legends weigh in on Carlos Alcaraz

Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Garbine Muguruza, and Alcaraz’s coach, Juan Carlos Ferrero, are interviewed and share their thoughts on Alcaraz’s budding career.

2. Three-part series

The length is unknown; however, it is divided into three episodes.  Netflix cameras and crew followed Alcaraz throughout the 2024 season, including the Paris Olympics and all of the Grand Slam tournaments, of which he won two, the French Open and Wimbledon.  Consistent with the trailer, Alcaraz presumably will speak his native Spanish in the series, and English captions will be included.

3. The trailer indicates Alcaraz’s internal conflict

The trailer points to the struggle Alcaraz is experiencing.  He wants to be the best tennis player in the world, but desires fun and memorable moments with his family and friends.  Alcaraz lives at his parents’ home when he is not on the ATP Tour.

Tennis is all-encoming and difficult physically and mentally, with an 11-month season, so there is a conflict between being the best tennis player in the world and balancing family and personal relationships.

Hopefully, we see Alcaraz on Netflix and the Mutua Madrid Open tennis courts this week.  The 2025 Rotterdam and Holger Rune in the Barcelona Open final, requiring an MRI.  Alcaraz, the 2022 and 2023 Madrid Open champion, is scheduled to play on Saturday.
