Is it time for NASCAR Xfinity Series full-time drivers to reclaim their circuit?

Over the past two events, Cup Series regulars Kyle Larson and William Byron invaded the second-tier series and drove away with the race titles. Austin Hill’s win at Talladega Superspeedway on April 26 marks the last time a points-eligible Xfinity driver earned a trip to Victory Lane. Hill, who ranks second in the drivers’ standings, remains the lone series driver to post four consecutive top-10 finishes.

Historically, Nashville has proven challenging to Xfinity drivers. Over the past seven outings at the 1.33-mile oval, only reigning series champion Justin Allgaier earned the checkered flag in 2022. Qualifying for Saturday night’s Tennessee Lottery 250 at Nashville Superspeedway will be staged in the afternoon, after practice.

If it’s time for Xfinity drivers to take over at Nashville, BetOnline Sportsbook remained skeptical as Cup regular Ross Chastain (+300) earned the top sports-betting odds to win Saturday. Allgaier (+325) received the second-best odds.

Coming off a Cup Series win at Charlotte Motor Speedway last Sunday, Chastain is slated to drive the No. 9 Chevrolet for JR Motorsports.

Can Justin Allgaier End Mini-Slump?

Leading the points standings by 72 points over Hill, Allgaier has compiled two wins and seven top-five finishes in nine starts, but must overcome a mini-skid.

In two of his past four starts, Allgaier posted a P21 at Rockingham Speedway and a P35 at Texas Motor Speedway.

In ‘22, Allgaier dominated the event title, leading 134 of 188 laps and beating Trevor Bayne by 4.513 seconds.

Can he rebound from losing the lead late to Byron at Charlotte and carry the Xfinity Series torch?
