Enduring a prolonged slump, NASCAR Cup Series driver Bubba Wallace became emotional at Nashville Superspeedway.

The new father and nine-year veteran shed tears during an interview with Prime, explaining how he is attempting to balance work-family responsibilities. Wallace called his son his new “ system.”

He’s needed it recently.

Before placing P6 at the 1.33-mile concrete oval, Wallace endured three finishes of 33 or worse in his previous four starts. He has not visited Victory Lane at Kansas in 2022.

“Having a kid changed your life,” Wallace said. “It’s super cool. …That’s the biggest system. He’s eight months (old). He doesn’t know what’s going on, but he’s excited to see me every time.”

With 11 regular-season races remaining, Wallace enters the Michigan International Speedway weekend ranked No. 10 in the drivers’ standings.

Wallace earned +3000 odds to end his winless skid Sunday, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. Kyle Larson (+600) was tabbed with the top sports-betting odds.

Denny Hamlin (+750)

Assuming he’s able to keep his cool this week and the No. 11 Toyota’s interior amenities are in working order Sunday, Hamlin could again contend for a trip to Victory Lane. With three top 10s, he has ed an average finish of P5 in his past three outings at MIS.

Chris Buescher (+2400)

Posting one win and two top-10s over his past three outings at MIS, Buescher seeks his first win since Week 28 last season at Watkins Glen. He edged Martin Truex Jr. by .152 seconds to earn the title at MIS in 2023.

Brad Keselowski (+3000)

The long shot is returning to his home-state track. A Rochester, Michigan, native Keselowski recorded two top-fives over his past three starts at MIS. Ranked No. 32 in the drivers’ standings, the 2012 Cup champion could use some home cookin’.
