Ross Chastain’s NASCAR Cup Series team had to get to work.

When the driver of the No. 1 Chevrolet wrecked during the Coca-Cola 600 practice session last Saturday at Charlotte Motor Speedway, the Trackhouse Racing crew hustled back to the nearby shop in Mooresville, North Carolina and worked until the early morning, returning to the speedway at 5:30 a.m.

The machine they worked on was the backup for this weekend’s race at Nashville Superspeedway. Pressed into duty, the machine powered Chastain into ing William Byron with six laps remaining, securing his first Cup crown jewel win.

Chastain won after starting from the rear, a rare accomplishment. Could he do it again at Nashville, a venue where he has one win, two top-five finishes and 144 laps led in his past three outings?

Kyle Larson (+475) was tabbed as the sports-betting favorite to earn the Cracker Barrel 400 title, according to BetOnline Sportsbook. Chastain drew +1100 odds.

Below, we’ll preview the top storylines heading into Sunday’s Cracker Barrel 400, go over the odds, and give our best bets for the 14th race on the 2025 NASCAR schedule.

Cracker Barrel 400 Storylines

  • In the midst of a challenging season, Brad Keselowski earned a P5 at Charlotte, his first top-10 finish of the season. Entering next weekend’s event at Nashville Superspeedway, the 2012 Cup champion ranks 32nd in the points standings.
  • Chase Briscoe (P3) and Michael McDowell (P7) are coming off season-best efforts.
  • What must Michael Jordan be thinking? The co-owner of 23XI Racing watched Bubba Wallace’s skid continue. After placing P5 at Charlotte, Wallace has not finished better than P33 in three consecutive outings.

Cracker Barrel 400 Predictions and Picks

Here are our best NASCAR Cup Series bets for the Cracker Barrel 400 at Nashville Superspeedway:

Kyle Larson (+475)

Larson may have endured wrecks on both ends of “The Double” attempt last Sunday, but his consistency keeps him a serious threat to capture his second Cup championship. In his past three Nashville starts, he did not finish lower than P8.

Denny Hamlin (+550)

Hamlin’s chances to win the Cup Series’ longest race last Sunday sputtered when he pitted with 12 laps remaining because of a lack of fuel. With a circuit-best 265 laps led, but no wins, at Nashville the past three races, Hamlin likely doesn’t need extra fuel to contend at the superspeedway.

Joey Logano (+2200)

Logano propelled his way into the 2024 playoffs – and to a third circuit title – by winning at Nashville. Already qualified for the postseason, Logano will not be forced to go five overtimes to become eligible this time around.
