After two failed attempts of completing “The Double,” NASCAR Cup Series driver Kyle Larson remained noncommittal over a future attempt at competing in the Indianapolis 500 and Coca-Cola 600 on the same day.

Last year, rain played havoc with his chances. On Sunday, he opened the day by wrecking on Lap 93 in the IndyCar event and then closed the effort with a Stage 3 crash during the Cup race.

After the initial sting wears off, Larson may be open for another attempt.

“I think it would be fun,” Larson told PRN Live. “I don’t know, it’s been bad two years in a row.

“I’d love to run the Indy 500 again, but the double is just so tough. Just a bummer I didn’t get to complete it.”

Entering next weekend’s Cup event at Nashville Superspeedway, Larson ranks second in the drivers’ standings with 470 points, 29 behind Hendrick Motorsports teammate William Byron.
