Micah Parsons is in the news again for what he said off the field, not for what he did on the field. See Parsons’ comments about Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy.

Micah Parson Makes Comments About Mike McCarthy

After Sunday’s 34-6 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, Parsons responded to a question about McCarthy and if the head coach will be with the Cowboys in 2025.

“That’s above my pay grade, if Mike’s coach again next year,” Parsons said via Jori Epstein. “All coaching aside, Mike can leave and go where he wants to. Guys I kind of feel bad for is guys like Zack Martin and guys who might be on their last year, on their way out, because that’s who I wanted to hold the trophy for.”

While showing empathy for those players, Parsons’ next statement about McCarthy will be subject to criticism.

“You want to win games and do great things with those type of legends who put in more time and work than Mike McCarthy ever did,” Parson continued. “So those are the kind of guys that I have so much sympathy and hurt for.”

On Get Up, Rex Ryan and Damien Woody eviscerated Parsons’ comments, saying the talented defensive end has no respect for his head coach. Woody went so far as to call Parsons a “podcast boy,” since the edge rusher hosts a weekly podcast where he shares his unfiltered opinions.

Micah Parsons Defends Comments

Parsons took to X to defend his action, accusing the media of twisting his words and “flipping them around for content.”

“You would think guys who played and coached the sport would have better journalism!! But I was very wrong,” Parsons wrote on X. “They trying to use my name image and likeness with dallas cowboys to continue to tear the beautiful organization with drama and bad media attentions! Be better.”

Parsons will respond to the comments on his podcast, The Edge with Micah Parsons

The Cowboys (3-6) host the Houston Texans (6-4) on Monday Night Football in Week 11.
