Ahead of Tuesday’s NFL trade deadline, the New Orleans Saints are sending cornerback Marshon Lattimore to the Washington Commanders. View the trade details below.

Marshon Lattimore Traded To Commanders

Lattimore has a new home in Washington.

Per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero, the Saints are trading Lattimore and a 2025 fifth-round pick to the Washington Commanders for a third-round pick, a fourth-round pick, and a sixth-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

The deal comes a mere hours before Tuesday’s 4 p.m. ET trade deadline.

For Washington, it signals a belief that rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels can bring the team to the playoffs for the first time since the 2020 season.

The Commanders are 7-2 and sit atop the NFC East. Trading for Lattimore bolsters a Washington secondary that allows the fifth-fewest ing yards per game (183.3).

Injuries have plagued Lattimore’s last two seasons. Lattimore’s hamstring injury has caused him to miss two games, including Sunday’s 23-22 loss to the Carolina Panthers.

However, Lattimore is a four-time Pro Bowl cornerback who can help the Commanders’ defense. Lattimore has 22 tackles and one defensed in seven games this season.

The Commanders host the Pittsburgh Steelers (6-2) in Week 10.

New Orleans Saints Begin Rebuilding

After the Saints lost their seventh consecutive game on Sunday, it was only a matter of time before the organization made major changes.

On Monday, the team fired head coach Dennis Allen. Allen finished his Saints tenure with an 18-25 overall record in 2.5 seasons.

Special teams coordinator Darren Rizzi was promoted to interim head coach.

The Saints host the Atlanta Falcons (6-3) in Week 10.
