LSU Women’s Basketball: Kim Mulkey Recruits Serah Williams and MiLaysia Fulwiley in Major Transfer Portal Push

Kim Mulkey is making a full-court press to land Wisconsin forward Serah Williams in the transfer portal—and she’s getting help from one of her top players to do it.
LSU Leading Chase for Serah Williams After Baton Rouge Visit
Williams, one of the top post players in the country, visited LSU last week. The Tigers rolled out the red carpet. Flau’jae Johnson returned to Baton Rouge and helped host the All-Big Ten forward. A video of their interaction made the rounds online and is being viewed as a strong sign of mutual interest:

Williams averaged 19.2 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks per game last season. She earned First Team All-Big Ten and Defensive Team honors and has two years of eligibility left.
UConn and UNC Still in the Hunt for Williams
LSU isn’t alone. North Carolina are also heavily involved. UConn offers a strong development track for post players, while UNC can offer a featured role and major NIL backing. But neither program can match LSU’s momentum or commitment right now.
Mulkey Chasing Fulwiley Too
LSU is also in the mix for MiLaysia Fulwiley, the high-octane South Carolina guard who entered the portal earlier this month. If Mulkey can land both Fulwiley and Williams, it would instantly give the Tigers the top transfer class in the country.
Williams would provide a dominant interior presence. Fulwiley adds dynamic shot creation and speed. Together, they’d reshape LSU’s starting lineup overnight.
LSU Aiming High
With Flau’jae staying and helping to recruit, and Mulkey pushing hard behind the scenes, LSU is well-positioned. The program has already signed the No. 1 freshman class and now has its sights set on the top of the portal.
Williams is expected to decide soon.
