Detroit Lions Draft Picks
The Detroit Lions had a magical regular season in 2024, finishing as AFC North champions with a 15-2 record, the best in the conference.
Unfortunately, the Lions’ ran into a buzzsaw in the Divisional Round, and its name was Jayden Daniels, as the Commanders pulled off the 45-31 upset.
Detroit has seven picks in this draft, including two in the top 60.

Edge Rusher
Aidan Hutchinson was one of the frontrunners to win Defensive Player of the Year before suffering a Week 6 season-ending leg injury.
Without Hutchinson, the Lions rush suffered, finishing 23rd in sacks (37).
Last season taught the Lions that a team can never have enough edge rushers. Expect Detroit to get one or two this draft.
Offensive Line
The Lions prolific offense starts in the trenches.
Detroit’s offensive line powered the league’s best 1-2 combo, David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs, to 28 rushing touchdowns.
Veteran guard Kevin Zeitler left Detroit for Tennessee in free agency. Drafting his potential replacement should be a priority.
Secondary
Detroit has the best tandem of safeties in the game in Kirby Joseph and Brian Branch.
Last season, Detroit was hit by the injury bug, with six defensive starters on injured reserve at the end of the year.
While Joseph and Branch are great, there is no depth behind them. Detroit should find a capable backup at safety in the middle rounds.
