It’s been quite the resurgent season for Keegan Bradley.

Coming into the 2022-23 PGA Tour campaign, the Vermont native hadn’t won a Rickie Fowler and Andrew Putnam this past October at the Zozo Championship.

And while he’d struggled a touch the last few months, failing to crack the top 20 in each of his previous eight starts leading into the Travelers Championship, Bradley certainly found his game at TPC River Highlands, setting several tournament records en route to his sixth PGA Tour title.

He also collected the largest check of his 13-year career, one that was more than double the amount he earned when he won his lone major championship.

Keegan Bradley collected $3.6 million for his win at the Travelers Championship

Coming off a missed cut at the U.S. Open, Bradley kicked off his week at the Travelers Championship with an 8-under 62 on the par-70 layout at TPC River Highlands.

The 37-year-old followed up on Friday with a 7-under 63, sharing the lead at the halfway point with Denny McCarthy at 15-under, a new 36-hole tournament record. On Saturday, Bradley fired a 6-under 64, setting a 54-hole record at 21-under.

And while he struggled on his final six holes during Sunday’s final round, making three bogeys after carding just one in his first 66, Bradley still shot a 2-under 68 to take a three-shot victory over Zac Blair and Brian Harman.

His 257-stroke, 23-under total set a new 72-hole record at TPC River Highlands, besting Kenny Perry’s 22-under winning score in 2009. In 1982, two years before the tourney moved to its current venue, Tim Norris shot 25-under over 72 holes on the par-71 layout at nearby Wethersfield Country Club.

As this was one of the PGA Tour’s designated events, Bradley collected the $3.6 million winner’s share of the $20 million purse, easily the biggest payday of his career. And if you haven’t realized just how much more money is on the table these days, think about this.

When Keegan Bradley won the 2011 PGA Championship as a rookie, he took home $1.445 million, just under two and a half times less than he collected on Sunday.
