Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert suffered multiple left leg injuries in Week 14’s loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Will Herbert play on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers?

Even with a left ankle sprain and left thigh contusion, Herbert was a full participant in Friday’s practice. More importantly, Herbert was not on the team’s final injury report, meaning he will play on Sunday.
When describing Herbert’s toughness, head coach Jim Harbaugh told reporters (via Alex Insdorf) that his quarterback has the “strength of ten men.”
Herbert did not practice on Wednesday and was limited on Thursday. However, the Pro Bowl quarterback practiced on Friday, putting him in line to start against the Bucs.
Herbert suffered the ankle injury on the Chargers’ first drive in their 19-17 loss to the Chiefs. A Kansas City defender landed on Herbert’s ankle, causing the quarterback to limp off the field.
In the second quarter, Herbert suffered a thigh contusion after being struck by Chiefs linebacker Nick Bolton. Once again, Herbert limped off the field.
Herbert finished the game despite the injuries.
In Week 2, Herbert suffered a high ankle sprain. However, the 26-year-old played through it and did not miss a game.
Herbert has thrown for 2,764 yards, 14 touchdowns, and one interception with a completion percentage of 63.9% in 13 games.

Heading into Week 15, the Chargers currently hold one of the three wild card spots in the AFC. Los Angeles is tied with the Baltimore Ravens and Denver Broncos with 8-5 records. Due to tiebreakers, the Chargers are currently the No. 6 seed.
With the Chiefs clinching the AFC, the Chargers can only qualify for the postseason via a wild-card spot.
The Chargers host the Buccaneers (7-6) at 4:25 p.m. ET on Sunday, Dec. 15.
