Travis Scott interfered in the match to help Cena.

John Cena ended up coming out on top and defeated Cody Rhodes to break Flair’s record and won his 17th WWE World Championship.

John Cena Breaks Record For Most WWE World Championships

The match was a typical match, with the two going back and forth.

There were no wild sequences outside of Travis Scott interfering.

Rhodes had a chance to hit Cena with the title but did not do it.

John Cena gave Rhodes a low blow and hit him with the title.

This was a good way of ending the match with Rhodes refusing to be a bad guy and Cena taking advantage of that. It fit perfectly with how the story was portrayed.

This could all be building up to a Cody Rhodes heel turn eventually.

WWE will be very interesting with Cena now the champion and how this will be booked for the rest of the year.

Ric Flair Reacts To John Cena Breaking The Record

Before the match between Rhodes and Cena, Flair and Cena each had 16 WWE World Championships.

Cena took sole custody of first on the list and now holds the record with 17 WWE World Championships.

Ric Flair posted the following on X, congratulating John Cena.
