New York Jets head coach Aaron Glenn addressed that some of his players were dissatisfied with the decision to move on from quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Glenn spoke to the media on Tuesday at the 2025 NFL Combine.
The team’s decision to move on from Rodgers was inevitably brought up.
Some Jets players voiced their displeasure, including Quinnen Williams, who wrote, “another rebuild year for me I guess,” with a thumbs-down emoji on X before deleting.
Glenn revealed he spoke to the players who disliked the Rodgers decision.
“Yes, I have talked to him,” Glenn said via SNY. “And listen, I understand the reaction of the players, but I’ll say this: Every decision that me and Moug [general manager Darren Mougey] make is to win and to win now. I understand it, but again, listen, this isn’t going to be the last decision I make that will upset some people, and that’s OK.
“As men, we talk about it. We make sure we keep it in-house, and that’s what we’re going to continue to do.”
Two weeks ago, the Jets told Rodgers that the organization would be moving in a different direction at quarterback.
While Rodgers put up solid numbers in 2024, the team struggled and finished with a 5-12 record.

New Jets general manager Darren Mougey also addressed the Rodgers situation.
Mougey would not speak about the private conversations with Rodgers during this process.
However, Mougey went on the record and said the team gave him no ultimatum to follow a specific set of rules, which included no interviews with Pat McAfee.
“I will say this: There was never an ultimatum or rules of engagement for Aaron to potentially the Jets,” Mougey said about his talks with Rodgers via NY Post Sports. “That never happened. AG and I had a lot of dialogue, a lot of conversations, a lot of good thoughts and just felt, at the end of the day, it was the best thing for the Jets moving forward, to go in a different direction at the quarterback position.”
Rodgers will likely be cut with a post-June 1 designation, meaning the Jets can spread out the $49 million cap hit over two years.
