Jalen Ramsey-Dolphins Update: Is CB Any Closer To Getting Traded?

The brewing conflict between Miami Dolphins remains at a standstill. Is a conclusion coming anytime soon?
Mike McDaniel’s Comments On Jalen Ramsey
In April, Miami Dolphins general manager Chris Grier told reporters that the team would explore trades for Ramsey and that it was in the best interest of both parties to move on.
That situation has not changed. The Dolphins are still looking to trade Ramsey.
The Dolphins’ voluntary OTAs have begun, and unsurprisingly, Ramsey is not in attendance.
When asked about Ramsey’s situation with the team, head coach Mike McDaniel preferred to focus on the players in attendance.
“I mean, quite honestly, zero has changed since the last time I said anything about him,” McDaniel said via Dolphins Press Conference. “Very much interested in the players that I’m coaching on the field today. And I think if you have a team that’s focused on getting better each and every day, that’s plenty for me to worry about. And I guess I’ll leave it at that.”
When asked if the team hopes to trade Ramsey before the Dolphins’ minicamp next month, McDaniel deflected once again.
“I’m really worried about the team, the players that will be out on the field today,” McDaniel said. “And that’s about as much breath as I want to speak into it.”
Important Date Coming Up That Factors Into A Jalen Ramsey Trade
5…
— Jalen Ramsey (@jalenramsey) May 27, 2025
No trade agreement has been finalized as of May 28, but June provides a better setting for a deal.
Ramsey wrote on X, “5…”
Ramsey is not referring to his jersey number. Instead, the number five represents the days until June 1. If the Dolphins move Ramsey after June 1, they will save $9.9 million against the 2025 cap.
If Ramsey is traded before June 1, the Dolphins will experience an $8.6 million cap hit.
Because Ramsey makes over $24 million per year, the Dolphins are also looking to find a team that will take on most of the corner’s 2025 money.
