Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs has the Christmas spirit this season and plans to give Dan Campbell a present.

Jahmyr Gibbs Reveals ‘Big’ Christmas Gift For Dan Campbell

While appearing on a recent episode of Up & Adams, host Kay Adams spoke with Gibbs about his holiday shopping and if he plans to get his head coach a gift. Adams asked what would be the perfect gift for Campbell, to which Gibbs responded with an item that represents his dog-like personality.

“Probably like a big ass bone,” Adams said. “A big dog bone.”

When Adams asked Gibbs to clarify his response, the talented running back explained why a bone would be a fitting gift for his head coach.

“He’s a dog,” Gibbs said. “He’s just a dog.”

Campbell, a former NFL tight end, is one of the biggest coaches in the league, standing at 6’5″ and weighing over 250 pounds. The fourth-year head coach wears his ion on his sleeve, from his animated press conferences to his emotional postgame speeches.

Campbell has also been called a dog for his aggressiveness. The Lions have attempted 25 fourth-down plays, converting 18 for a 72% success rate.

In Week 14, the Lions faced a fourth-and-inches from the Packers 21-yard line in a 31-31 game with 43 seconds left. Instead of kicking the field goal, Campbell left his offense on the field and converted the fourth-down play. The Lions then ran the clock down and kicked the game-winning chip-shot field goal as time expired to win 34-31.

Detroit Lions Entering Final Stretch of the Season

Heading into Week 16, the Lions sit atop the NFC North with a record of 12-2. Detroit is also first in the NFC, meaning if the season ended today, the Lions would receive the first-round bye and home-field advantage in the playoffs.

The Lions three remaining opponents are the Bears, 49ers, and Vikings.

The injury bug could play a major factor in how the Lions finish the season. The team recently lost David Montgomery and Alim McNeill to season-ending injuries.

The Lions travel to Chicago to play the Bears (4-10) on Dec. 22 at 1 p.m. ET.
