TNT Sports and HBO Sports Documentaries present We Beat The Dream Team, a new documentary about one of the greatest upsets in sports history that no one ever saw. Find out how to watch the documentary below.

What Is We Beat The Dream Team About?

For the first time in Olympic history, professional basketball players were allowed to compete at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, Spain.

USA basketball formed “The Dream Team,” one of the most legendary basketball teams to ever step foot on a court.

The Dream Team was full of future NBA Hall of Famers, including Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Charles Barkley, Patrick Ewing, and more.

Ahead of the Olympic Games, the Dream Team needed a team to practice against before the competition began.

Enter the USA Select Team, made up of select star college players.

The USA Select Team included Grant Hill, Chris Webber, Penny Hardaway, Bobby Hurley, Jamal Mashburn, Allan Houston, Rodney Rogers, and Eric Montross.

Christian Laettner was the only college athlete to make the Dream Team.

The Dream Team thought they would walk over and dominate the Select Team. In the trailer, Webber shares a story about how Bird told him to get some sleep because “we are going to bust your ass tomorrow.”

Well, that’s not what happened.

In a David vs. Goliath matchup, the Select Team defeated the Dream Team in the scrimmage.

The documentary chronicles this famous scrimmage with the players who were involved. Several conspiracies as to how the Select Team won have been floated around before, with assistant coach Mike Krzyzewski saying USA coach Chuck Daly “threw the game” on purpose so the Americans could know they would lose.

“All I know is when the clock stopped, we were up,” Houston says in the trailer.
