The Miami Dolphins are wasting no time making roster moves to start the offseason. The Dolphins released three players, including running back Raheem Mostert.

Dolphins Release Three Players

The Dolphins announced the releases of Mostert, cornerback Kendall Fuller, and tight end Durham Smythe.

After spending over five seasons with the San Francisco 49ers, Mostert signed with the Dolphins in 2022.

Mostert rushed for 891 yards and three touchdowns in his first season with the Dolphins.

2023 was his breakout year. Mostert rushed for a career-high of 1,012 yards and 18 touchdowns. His 21 total touchdowns led the NFL. Mostert made the Pro Bowl that same season.

This past season, Mostert took a backseat to De’Von Achane. Mostert finished with 278 yards and two touchdowns in 13 games.

Mostert, 32, will now try to resurrect his career elsewhere.

Fuller signed with the Dolphins last offseason. Fuller started 11 games, making 50 total tackles and seven es defensed.

Miami drafted Smythe in the fourth round of the 2018 draft. Smythe caught nine es for 53 yards this past season.

Dolphins Begin Rebuilding Season

The Dolphins missed the playoffs in 2024 with an 8-9 record.

Part of the reason was due to Tua Tagovailoa’s injuries.

Tyreek Hill ended the season by saying he was “out” after the Week 18 loss. Hill later clarified his comments and apologized to his teammates.

Before the moves today, the Dolphins were projected to be $15.9 million over the salary cap. In other words, Miami will have trouble re-g key players, including guard Robert Jones and Liam Eichenberg.

Miami needs to be extremely creative this offseason, especially when building the offensive line.
