UCLA is emerging as the frontrunner to land 2026 wide receiver Devin Fitzgerald after a successful official visit from May 16–18. The son of NFL legend Larry Fitzgerald, Devin was on campus in Westwood last week, and according to multiple sources, the visit exceeded expectations on both sides.

UCLA Favorites to Land Devin Fitzgerald

Fitzgerald has not made a public commitment yet, but the Bruins made a strong impression. The staff rolled out a personalized pitch, including time with head coach DeShaun Foster, academic meetings, and a uniform photoshoot. He left Los Angeles “feeling the love,” according to one source close to the recruitment.

Now, UCLA holds momentum in the race to land one of the top -catchers in the 2026 cycle.

Who’s Still in the Mix for Devin Fitzgerald?

Fitzgerald still has several official visits lined up before his commitment date on July 5:

  • Clemson: May 30–June 1
  • Stanford: June 6–8
  • Notre Dame: June 13–15
  • North Carolina: June 20–22
  • Arizona State: TBD

Notre Dame and Stanford are considered the biggest threats right now. Clemson is still a factor but trails slightly. Arizona State is the local option but doesn’t appear to have the same pull despite the family ties to Phoenix.

Why Fitzgerald Is a Priority

UCLA is desperate to land the wide receiver for several reasons, which include:

  • One of the most polished route runners in the 2026 class
  • Strong hands, body control, and football IQ—clearly a product of NFL lineage
  • 52 catches for 720 yards and 9 TDs as a junior at Brophy College Prep

Fitzgerald is ranked a four-star by Rivals and is inside the national top 150. He’s the No. 5 overall player in Arizona and a top-20 WR prospect nationally.

Commitment Date Locked In

Fitzgerald plans to announce his college choice on July 5. Until then, he’ll finish his visits and give each school a final evaluation—but UCLA’s early edge is real. Unless another school blows him away in June, the Bruins are in pole position.
