Klayton Adams Hired As Cowboys OC

The Cowboys are turning to Adams as their next offensive coordinator, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport, Tom Pelissero, and Mike Garafolo reported Friday.

Adams met with the Cowboys for his second interview on Friday. As the saying goes, “If you want a coach, don’t let them leave the building.” Dallas didn’t let Adams leave without g a contract.

The Cowboys also interviewed Detroit Lions running backs coach Scottie Montgomery and Atlanta Falcons tight ends coach Kevin Koger.

Adams will become the offensive coordinator under first-year head coach Brian Schottenheimer, the team’s previous OC. Schottenheimer will continue to call plays for the offense.

Adams served as the Arizona Cardinals offensive line coach for the previous two seasons. The Cardinals ranked seventh in the NFL in yards per game (144.2) last season.

Adams started his coaching career in college as a graduate assistant at Boise State (2005-2006). Adams then spent the next decade in college as an assistant before jumping to the NFL.

Adams served as the assistant offensive line coach (2019-2020) and tight ends coach (2021-2022) with the Indianapolis Colts (2019-2020).

Dak Prescott Gets Third Offensive Coordinator In Four Seasons

With the hiring of Adams, the Cowboys now have their third offensive coordinator in four seasons, following Kellen Moore (2022) and Schottenheimer (2023-2024).

The Cowboys offense will look to bounce back with the return of Prescott, who suffered a season-ending injury in Week 9.

With Prescott and CeeDee Lamb, the Cowboys have some firepower on offense. However, Dallas will look to Adams to improve their run game in 2025.
