Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp wants to play football next season. However, Kupp is unsure if it will be with the Rams.

Does Cooper Kupp Want To Play For The Rams Next Season?

Days after the Rams’ Divisional Round loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, Kupp is already facing questions about his future with the team.

Kupp told reporters that he will be playing in 2025.

“I feel like I’ve got a lot of good football left in me,” Kupp said via ESPN’s Sarah Barshop. “I’ll be playing football next year. That much I know.”

Kupp’s name was brought up in trade rumors this past October.

The Rams reportedly called multiple teams about trading Kupp for a second-round draft pick. However, the Rams elected to keep the 31-year-old receiver.

Kupp says the trade rumors are “out of his control.” However, Kupp’s preferred option is to remain with the Rams.

“Who knows what’s going to happen,” Kupp said. “That’s out of my control. And we will see what it’s going to be. … I don’t have any clarity on what that’s going to look like or anything like that. So yeah, obviously would love to be in L.A., but I don’t know what that’s going to look like.”

Kupp signed a three-year, $80.1 million contract extension in 2022. Kupp only has $5 million guaranteed in 2025. The Rams will have $15 million in cash and $7.52 million against the salary cap if they cut Kupp.

If Kupp is released without a post-June 1 designation, the Rams will be hit with $22.2 million in dead money.

Can Cooper Kupp Still Produce At A High Level?

Despite the blizzard conditions, Kupp ended Sunday’s loss with five catches for 61 yards.

Kupp ended his season with 67 receptions for 710 yards and six touchdowns in 12 games. Kupp missed several games this season with an ankle injury.

Kupp is still one of Matthew Stafford’s top targets, though Puka Nacua has sured him as the Rams’ No. 1 receiver.

Kupp has played all eight seasons with the Rams.

Kupp’s best season came in 2021 when he won the receiving triple crown with 145 receptions, 1,947 yards, and 16 touchdowns.

Kupp saved his best performance for the final game of that season, catching eight balls for 92 yards and two touchdowns in the Rams’s 23-20 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl LVI. Kupp was named MVP of that game.
