Nothing is better in sports than a game seven contest in the playoffs.

The St. Louis Blues played the Winnipeg Jets in game seven of their first-round playoff series.

It was a wild game that went to two overtimes.

St. Louis got on the board first with a Jordan Kyrou goal early in the first period. The Blues took a 2-0 lead after Mathieu Joseph lit the lamp in the first period.

Cole Perfetti finally got the Jets on the scoreboard with a power-play goal in the middle of the second period.

However, the Blues took back a two-goal lead after Radek Faksa scored with less than a minute left in the second period.

This looked like it would be the end of the Jets’ run until two minutes left in the third period. Vladislav Namestnikov scored a goal with just less than two minutes left in the game.

Cole Perfetti would not let the Jets get eliminated as he scored his second goal of the game with less than five seconds remaining to push the game to overtime.

Nobody scored in the first overtime, and a second overtime was needed.

Adam Lowry was the hero for Winnipeg, scoring the game-winning goal with under four minutes left in the second overtime.

The Jets will now take on the Dallas Stars in the Conference Semifinals.

The Winnipeg Jets will take on the Dallas Stars in the Conference Semifinals.

  • Game Two: Dallas defeated Winnipeg 3-1
  • Game Three: Winnipeg defeated Dallas 4-1
  • Game Four: Winnipeg defeated Dallas 4-0

Connor Hellebuyck started in all four games against the Stars and thrived this season. He had a 3-1-0 record with a 1.01 GAA and .965 SV% against the Stars this season.

Hellebuyck was shaky in round one of the playoffs and will need to improve in round two against a team he had tremendous success against during the season.

Can The Jets Win The Stanley Cup?

The Winnipeg Jets will go as far as Connor Hellebuyck will take them. He was the best goalie throughout the 2024-25 NHL season, but was a bit shaky in round one.

Winnipeg’s offense was good in round one and during the season.

How far the Winnipeg Jets go in the postseason will depend on Hellebuyck. If he plays like he did during the season, the Jets are capable of winning the Stanley Cup.
