Sam Wilson, grab your shield. Anthony Mackie is stepping into the role of Captain America in his first solo movie, Captain America: Brave New World. Are audiences ready to move on from Steve Rogers? Below are the predictions and odds for Captain America: Brave New World’s opening weekend box office.

What Is Captain America: Brave New World About?

In the final moments of Avengers: Endgame, Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) ed his shield to Sam Wilson (Mackie), and with it, the Captain America moniker.

In Brave New World, Sam is officially Captain America, meaning his job will get a lot more difficult.

While trying to work with the newly elected President Thaddeus Ross (Harrison Ford), Sam becomes entangled in an international incident.

Someone is pulling the strings behind the scenes. Who might that be? If Sam doesn’t stop the threat, someone might be “seeing red” in the worst way.

Brave New World’s ensemble includes Danny Ramirez, Shira Haas, Xosha Roquemore, Carl Lumbly, Giancarlo Esposito, Liv Tyler, and Tim Blake Nelson.

Directed by Julius Onah, Captain America: Brave New World opens on February 14, 2025.
