Calls to ban the New York Yankees fan who interfered during Game 4 of the MLB World Series have erupted on social media.
The Yankees fan, identified as Austin Capobianco, reached over the wall and grabbed a foul ball from Los Angeles Dodgers star Mookie Betts’ glove.
The chaotic incident occurred in the first inning when Gleyber Torres hit a foul ball that Betts managed to catch. However, Capobianco, along with another fan, interfered with the catch, leading to a heated exchange between Betts and the fans.

Both fans were subsequently ejected from the game. While Betts downplayed the incident, many fans and analysts have condemned Capobianco’s actions.
This is the second time in the series that fan interference has impacted a Yankees at-bat. In Game 1, with two outs in the ninth inning, Torres hit a deep fly ball to left field.
However, a fan leaned over the wall and caught the ball before it could be secured by the Dodgers’ outfielder, resulting in Torres being awarded a double, extending the inning.

Following the incident, social media erupted with calls for a lifetime ban from all Major League Baseball stadiums.
One furious fan commented, “Should be banned from all 30 stadiums for life.” Another wrote, “Ban that idiot from Yankee Stadium for life.”

Ultimately, it remains to be seen whether the Yankees take disciplinary action against Capobianco, such as revoking his season tickets or banning him from future games.
It’s possible that MLB could also impose a league-wide ban, effectively preventing him from attending any MLB games in the future.
As the Dodgers lead the series 3-1, they are on the brink of their second World Series title in five years. Game 5 is scheduled for Wednesday.
