Including her short time and a large part of her collegiate career at the University of Iowa, Caitlin Clark had made at least one three-pointer in a game in 140 straight contests. That impressive streak came to an end on Thursday night, but her Indiana Fever were able to pick up their second victory of the season against the Atlanta Dream.

Caitlin Clark Finishes With No Three-Pointers In Fever Win

The last time Clark failed to hit a three-pointer in a game was well before she rose to her current level of fame. It came during her sophomore year at Iowa, and happened on January 13th, 2022. She went 0 for 6 from beyond the arc that night against Purdue, but still managed to score 24 points in a 79-66 win for the Hawkeyes.

It was the only time in her college career that she finished without a three, as she had a 42-game streak leading up to that point. Including Thursday night’s Fever game, it is just the second time that Caitlin Clark had ended a game with a zero in the box score since high school. That spans 184 total contests.

Howard Steps Up During Clark’s Cold Shooting Night

Indiana had lost the first game of back-to-back contests against Atlanta on Tuesday. But they were able to right their wrongs on Thursday night despite Clark’s poor shooting performance. Natasha Howard led the way instead, and finished with 26 points on 12 of 17 shooting. The Fever wound up winning by a score of 81-76, and improve to 2-1 on the young season.

Clark started off the season red-hot. On Opening Night, she recorded a 20-10-10 triple double, becoming the first player in WNBA history to achieve that feat in her team’s first game of the year. Three nights later, she tied the record for the most 20 point, 10 assist games in a career, which she achieved in 388 fewer games than Courtney Vandersloot.

The Fever have an early-season showdown with the defending champions looming on their schedule. The New York Liberty will be in town on Saturday, and the game will be broadcast on CBS.
