Austin Hill Waits for Winning NASCAR Xfinity Series Call; Justin Allgaier Tops Drivers’ Title Odds

NASCAR Xfinity Series driver Austin Hill waited for the call.
In the moments that ed following last Saturday’s photo finish at Talladega Superspeedway, Hill patiently stood around, anticipating the announcement of who won between Hill, Jesse Love and Jeb Burton. The trio were separated by inches at the start/finish line.
Burton was convinced he placed first, until the ruling came in for Hill.
It marked Hill’s ninth drafting-track win, which ranks first all-time.
“I just locked in and kept pushing the heck out of the 2 car (Love),” Hill said, per a press release.
Hill (+400), who earned the win last Saturday at Talladega Superspeedway, received the series’ second-best odds to capture the drivers’ championship, according to BetOnline Sportsbook. Points leader Justin Allgaier (+240) enters the weekend as the sports-betting favorite.

2 Teams Hit With L1 Penalties
Jordan Anderson Racing and Viking Motorsports could not the post-race inspection last Saturday at Talladega. The two organizations were assessed L1 penalties for violating rear bumper cover rules.
The ruling against Viking’s No. 99 Chevrolet came after driver Matt DiBenedetto, who drew +15000 odds to claim the circuit title, initially earned a P5 at Dega. JAR’s No. 87 Chevrolet, piloted by Austin Green, did not qualify.
Both teams were fined $25,000 and lost 20 driver points.
