Alabama QB Jalen Milroe Declares For 2025 NFL Draft

After two seasons as the starter at Alabama, quarterback Jalen Milroe has declared for the 2025 NFL Draft.

Milroe, a redshirt junior, will forgo his senior season and enter the 2025 NFL Draft. Milroe announced the decision on his Instagram.

“To my teammates, my brothers, thank you for the blood, sweat, and tears we’ve shared,” Milroe wrote. “The bonds we’ve built will last a lifetime. To Coach [Nick] Saban, thank you for believing in me and instilling the standard of excellence in me. To Coach [Kalen] DeBoer, thank you for challenging me and helping me grow into the player and leader I am today.”

After appearing in 12 games during the 2021 and 2022 seasons, Milroe became the full-time starter in 2023.

Milroe threw for 2,834 yards, 23 touchdowns, and six interceptions. Milroe also added 531 yards rushing and 12 touchdowns. Alabama qualified for the College Football Playoff and lost to Michigan in the Rose Bowl game.

Milroe had a shaky season as a er in 2024, with 2,844 yards, 16 touchdowns, 11 interceptions, and a completion percentage of 64.3. Milroe exploded as a runner, scoring 20 touchdowns on 726 yards rushing.

Alabama’s season ended on a sour note, losing 19-13 to Michigan in the ReliaQuest Bowl. Milroe struggled against the Wolverines’ defense, completing 16 of 32 es for 192 yards, one touchdown, and one interception.

Where does Milroe rank in the 2025 NFL Draft class?

ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. has Milroe as the No. 3 quarterback prospect in the draft.

Bleacher Report has Milroe as the No. 42 ranked prospect and No. 4 ranked quarterback. Milroe has been graded as the quarterback with the best mobility.

Most NFL Draft experts peg Miami’s Cam Ward and Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders as the first two quarterbacks off the board.
