Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Aidan O’Connell exited Sunday’s loss with a knee injury. Will O’Connell miss significant time?

Aidan O’Connell Leaves Game With Knee Injury

In the third quarter of the Raiders’ 28-13 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, O’Connell was shoved hard after the play by Calijah Kancey. O’Connell landed awkwardly and injured his left knee.

O’Connell was put in an air cast and carted off the field.

The Raiders feared the worst, believing O’Connell suffered a serious injury. However, the initial results have been better than expected.

Per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, an MRI confirmed that O’Connell suffered a bone bruise. O’Connell has not been ruled out for Monday’s Week 14 game against the Atlanta Falcons.

O’Connell completed 11 of 19 es for 104 yards and one interception before leaving Sunday’s game. On the season, O’Connell has thrown for 899 yards, four touchdowns, and three interceptions in six games.

Who Will Start For The Raiders In Week 14?

If O’Connell can’t play, who will start at quarterback for the Raiders?

Desmond Ridder will likely start on Monday night if O’Connell misses the game. In relief for O’Connell, Ridder finished 12 of 18 for 101 yards.

It could be a revenge game for Ridder, who was drafted by the Falcons in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

With the loss to the Bucs, the Raiders have now lost nine straight games to fall to 2-11 on the season.
