ESPN’s Adam Schefter said on Monday that barring a setback, Kellen Moore will become the next head coach of the New Orleans Saints.

The Saints are the only team without a head coach.
On Monday’s edition of The Pat McAfee Show, Schefter spoke about the Saints’ head coaching vacancy and their next steps as an organization.
If all goes according to plan, Schefter believes Moore will coach the Saints in 2025.
“The head of the Saints organization, Mickey Loomis, will do everything in his power, when it comes to this coaching hire, to follow the rules and go by the book and not talk to Kellen Moore until after the Super Bowl,” Schefter said. “Could it break down and they not reach an agreement? Sure. Is that likely? No. Kellen Moore is gonna have a chance to probably triple his salary, become a head coach, one of 32.”
Moore and the Eagles are in the Saints’ facilities this week as they prepare for the Super Bowl on Feb. 9. The Saints cannot speak with Moore until after the Super Bowl, which they plan to do.
Schefter pointed out that the Saints would have hired someone else if they wanted to. By waiting for Moore, their intentions are clear: Moore will get the job.
“Of course, barring a setback, he’s [Moore] going to be the guy,” Schefter said.

Expect the Saints to speak with Moore as early as Monday. With Moore already in New Orleans, things could move rather quickly.
Before Moore departs for New Orleans, he has one more job: help the Eagles defeat the Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX.
In his first year in Philadelphia, Moore has guided the offense to 367.2 yards per game (8th), 179.3 rushing yards per game (2nd), and 7th in points per game (27.2).
Expect Moore and the offense to rely heavily on their 2,000-yard running back, Saquon Barkley, during the game.
