Aaron Gordon Asks NBA For A Change In Rigorous Playoff Scheduling

NBA and their playoff scheduling.
NBA Scheduling Could Be Affecting Player Health
Injuries have ravaged the 2025 NBA Playoffs. Stars like Steph Curry and Jayson Tatum suffered season-ending ailments, as did Damian Lillard in the first round. The apparent uptick has caused many to speculate whether the grueling schedule has anything to do with it, as most games this postseason have been happening on an every-other-day basis.

With back and forth travel included, players are given little time to rest and rehab their bodies. Some players have limped through the pain, as Jimmy Butler did after taking a fall in the Warriorsâ series against the Rockets, and you can add Gordon to that list as well after his surprising appearance in Sundayâs game.
Based on his comments in his post game press conference, Gordon is one of the players calling for more days between games:
âI would really, really appreciate it if there were a couple of days in between games in the playoffs instead of every other dayâŚThe product of the game would be a lot better. You would see a higher level of basketball.â
Despite his efforts, Gordon and the Nuggets were eliminated from NBA Finals contention by the Thunder in blowout fashion. After jumping out to a 21-10 first quarter lead, Denver fell behind by 14 at halftime, and eventually lost Game 7 by a score of 125-93.

Aaron Gordon started the game and played 25 minutes. He scored 8 points on just 4 shots from the field, and he pulled down 11 rebounds.
In continuing with the brutal schedule, the Thunderâs reward after a hard-fought, seven-game series is just one day of rest. Theyâll host the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals on Tuesday.
