As we approach the start of the 2025 NFL Draft, the league’s trade rumors are heating up. There are more than a handful of players that are thought to be on the trade block, some more publicly than others, and Draft Night is a great time to get a deal done.

Which Big Name Players Could Be Traded During 2025 NFL Draft?

Which big names around the league are candidates to be dealt? We take a look at five of the names that could be switching teams before or on April 24th:

Kirk Cousins – QB, Atlanta Falcons

One of the most likely candidates for a trade during the NFL Draft is Kirk Cousins. The soon-to-be 37-year-old fell out of favor quickly in Atlanta, and the Falcons have made it clear that Cousins has been on the trade block this season. It would be unwise for the team to keep such an expensive player as a backup, but there should be a QB-hungry team that comes calling at some point before or during the draft process.

Cousins will have to waive his no-trade clause as a part of any deal or agreement.

Jalen Ramsey – CB, Miami Dolphins

It was reported earlier in the week that the Miami Dolphins would be looking to trade Jalen Ramsey, which was confirmed in comments by their general manager. The former All-Pro cornerback has spent just two seasons in South Florida (one of them marred by injuries) and it appears that the team is looking to shed his salary and have another franchise pay him the remaining $21 million that he’s owed in 2025.

The Dolphins had better have a succession plan, though, as their cornerback depth chart seriously lacks talent without Ramsey.

Breece Hall – RB, New York Jets

New head coach Aaron Glenn may want to employ the same running back by committee approach that was used in Detroit last season, but Breece Hall is a feature back who will want to be paid like one when he becomes a free agent next offseason. The Jets could look to get value for 24-year-old now before his contract expires, and would fetch a nice return on the open market for a team that is rebuilding.

Braelon Allen showed flashes in 2024 that can help give the team a start in filling out their running back room, and the 2025 NFL Draft Class is a deep one at the position.

Trey Hendrickson – DE, Cincinnati Bengals

The Bengals doled out some serious money to their star players this off-season, but have yet to address the situation of the player who has racked up 17.5 sacks in each of the past two NFL seasons. The saga has caused Trey Hendrickson to ask for a trade, a request that was made long ago, but still hasn’t come to fruition with draft night approaching. There hasn’t been any new news from either side as of recent, but April 24th could be a breaking point as more potential offers come in.

Jaire Alexander – CB, Green Bay Packers

The Packers have been reportedly trying to trade their talented cornerback for months now, but have yet to find a willing partner. The issue is Alexander’s availability, as he has only played in 7 games in each of the past two seasons, and has a high price tag for someone who is in and out of the lineup. He is due $17.5 million for the year, which Green Bay will be on the hook for if they don’t find a deal this off-season.
