Florida Wins 2025 National Championship

The Florida Gators overcame a 12-point second-half deficit to defeat Houston 65-63 to win the 2025 NCAA Tournament.
The win is the third national championship in program history and the first under Todd Golden.
Walter Clayton Jr. was named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player. Clayton struggled most of the night and did not score his first point until the 14:57 mark of the second half.
However, Clayton converted a huge basket and the foul with 7:54 left in the game. The talented guard then made a 3-pointer with 3:14 left to tie the game at 60.
In the end, Florida’s defense won them the championship. The Gators forced Houston to commit three straight turnovers to end the game, failing to get a shot up in the game’s final 85 seconds.

With the 2025 season in the past, who is favored to win the 2026 NCAA Tournament?
Per BetOnline, Duke (+1000) and Purdue (+1000) are co-favorites to win the national championship.
While Duke will have to replace three freshmen, including Cooper Flagg, the Blue Devils bring in the top-ranked recruiting class led by Cameron and Cayden Boozer.
The Boilermakers will have a veteran team next season led by Braden Smith and Trey Kaufman-Renn, two players who will likely be named preseason All-Americans.
Houston (+1200) should be right back in the mix with three top-20 prospects, while Florida (+2500) might need some time to adjust to a new roster.
