2025 NFL Schedule: Eagles To Face Cowboys In NFL Kickoff Game

The first game on the 2025 NFL schedule will feature the Dallas Cowboys in the NFL Kickoff Game.

NFL Kickoff Game Features Eagles And Cowboys

The defending Super Bowl champions will face a division rival in the first game of the 2025 season.

The Eagles will welcome the Cowboys to Lincoln Financial Field on Thursday, Sept. 4. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:20 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock.

This is the first time since the 2000 season that the Eagles and Cowboys will play in Week 1. Philadelphia dominated that matchup and won 41-14.

Speaking of domination, the Eagles defeated the Cowboys in both matchups last season. Philly won 34-6 in Week 10 and 41-7 in Week 17. Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott did not play in either game due to a season-ending injury suffered in Week 9.

The defending Super Bowl champion has played in the NFL Kickoff Game 20 times since 2004. Those teams are 15-5.

After winning Super Bowl LII, the Eagles played in the 2018 NFL Kickoff Game against the Atlanta Falcons in a rematch of the 2017 Divisional Round. The Eagles won 18-12.

2025 NFL Schedule Release Week

Welcome to NFL Schedule Release Week. The 2025 NFL Schedule powered by AWS is scheduled for Wednesday, May 14, at 8 p.m. ET on NFL Network.

Several of the league’s broadcast s will announce select games for the 2025 season in the days leading up to the NFL Schedule release.

The 2025 NFL Kickoff game was announced on Monday morning’s edition of NBC’s TODAY. FOX and Prime Video are also scheduled to make scheduling announcements on May 12.

Good Morning America will present games for ESPN on May 13. Expect those games to be for Monday Night Football.

Finally, CBS and Netflix will reveal games on May 14.

The entire international slate will be revealed on May 13’s edition of Good Morning Football on NFL Network.
