Jackson, Allen Are Favorites To Win 2025 NFL MVP
How much of a chance does Allen have to repeat the honors in 2025? The oddsmakers at BetOnline have released the early odds on who will be named the Most Valuable Player for the season:
Player | Odds |
---|---|
Lamar Jackson | +400 |
Josh Allen | +500 |
Joe Burrow | +600 |
Patrick Maholmes | +900 |
Jayden Daniels | +900 |
Jalen Hurts | +1600 |
Justin Herbert | +2200 |
Jared Goff | +2200 |
Cj Stroud | +2500 |
Jordan Love | +2500 |
Saquon Barkley | +2500 |
Brock Purdy | +3300 |
Trevor Lawrence | +3300 |
Dak Prescott | +3300 |
Baker Mayfield | +3300 |
Caleb Williams | +4000 |
Tua Tagovailoa | +4000 |
Kyler Murray | +4000 |
Bo Nix | +4000 |
Sam Darnold | +4000 |
Lamar Jackson (+400)
Jackson has taken home the NFL MVP award twice already in his career, and many believed that he should have won it over Allen in 2024. The Ravens’ QB finished with more total yards, more touchdowns, fewer picks, and even a higher completion percentage during the regular season, but still got 4 fewer first place votes during the award polling process.
But the oddsmakers believe that he’ll be back again in 2025 to try to prove his case yet again. The Ravens are third on the list when it comes to Super Bowl odds, listed at +650, and Jackson is a huge reason why. Should he be named the NFL MVP for a third time, he would be just the 7th player in the history of the league to do so, ing names like Tom Brady and Brett Favre as guys who have each won three.

Josh Allen (+500)
Second place on the MVP board is a place that Allen is familiar with. Before finally winning the award for this past season, the Bills QB had had 2nd, 3rd, and 5th place finishes in the voting in previous years, and only Jackson is listed as a more likely candidate for 2025.
Can Allen repeat his success? Many thought that 2024 would be a down year for Buffalo and their 7th year quarterback given the lack of explosive offensive playmakers, but he did much of the heavy lifting himself statistically. We will see how the off-season plays out for the Bills in of player acquisition and roster building, but much of the load could fall on Allen’s shoulders once again.
Joe Burrow (+600)
Joe Burrow would have been named the 2024 NFL MVP if his team had better results. The no. 1 pick from the 2020 Draft has been in the conversation before, but this past season was his crown jewel statistically. Not only were his 4,918 yards and 43 touchdown es easily his career highs, but he led the league in both, and was also tops in completions. But his Bengals went just 9-8 on the year thanks in large part to a defense that ranked 25th in the league, and missed the playoffs despite winning each of their final five games.
If Burrow mirrors his production in 2025 and Cincinnati figures out how to improve on the other side of the ball, then the +600 designation given to the quarterback might hold some solid value at the sportsbooks.
