The U.S. women’s gymnastics team at the Olympics is widely regarded as one of the toughest teams to make in all sports.

Some say making Team USA is harder than winning a medal at the Olympics.

15 women will compete for five spots at the 2024 Summer Olympics.

The Russian athletes competing under the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) banner are the defending goal medalists in the Olympic team competition. The United States won the silver, and Great Britain won the bronze.

2024 USA Women’s Gymnastics Trials Head To Minneapolis

Simone Biles, Shilese Jones Massive Favorites To Make Team USA

Simone Biles (-10000) is the surest thing to lock. Biles is a seven-time Olympic medalist and a 30-time World Championship medalist. Should Biles make Team USA, she will Muriel Grossfeld, Linda Metheny, and Dominique Dawes as the only American women to compete in three Olympic Games.

Shilese Jones (-2000) is considered Biles’s toughest competition to be the top gymnast on the team. A six-time World medalist, Jones is attempting to qualify for her first Olympic games.

Suni Lee (-350) heads into Minneapolis as the hometown hero and sentimental favorite. One year ago, Lee was battling a rare kidney condition that forced her to miss several competitions. However, Lee is rounding into form and will look to make the Olympics and defend her gold medal in the all-around competition.

Update: June 27 at 2:00 p.m.

Skye Blakely (+160) will not compete at the trials due to an Achilles injury suffered on Wednesday.
