When Is The Championship Play-Off Final?
This year’s Play-Off Final at Wembley Stadium will take place on Saturday, 24 May.
The exact kickoff time is yet to be confirmed, but last season’s final between Southampton and Leeds United kicked off at 3:00pm.
How Much Is The Championship Play-Off Final Worth?
Dubbed the ‘richest game in football’ – and with good reason – the Play-Off Final is worth a huge amount of money for whichever team wins it.
This year’s winners are set to earn at least £220m in extra income.
Comparatively, the League One and League Two Play-Off winners will receive about £12m and £2m respectively.
Whichever of Sheffield United and Sunderland emerges victorious will also get a share of the new domestic TV deal, worth £6.4 billion over four seasons.
On top of this, promoted clubs earn centralised commercial fees, facility feed and merit payments, while also being entitled to parachute payments if they are relegated back to the second tier.
Both Play-Off Final clubs will also get a share of the gate receipts from Wembley, worth around £2m.
