Ilia Topuria vs Max Holloway is almost here as the two fighters meet in the centre of the octagon in the main event at UFC 308. Both fighters are expected to earn lucrative purses for the bout, but just what is the exact UFC 308 prize money on offer and how much is each fighter being paid?

UFC 308 Prize Money

The anticipation is palpable for Ilia Topuria, as he aims to defend his UFC Featherweight Title for the first time against former champion Max Holloway.

The Ilia Topuria as the overriding betting favourite for the bout. Max Holloway is understandably the underdog here, with the majority of UFC fans expecting ‘El Matador’ to continue his unbeaten streak. However, write of Max Holloway at your peril.

Looking at the UFC 308 prize money on offer, both Topuria and Holloway are expected to earn a fortune in the main event at the Etihad Arena. As far as exact figures are concerned, official purses won’t be revealed until after the fight. However, their base salaries have been outlined by Sporty Salaries.

They have reported that Khamzat Chimaev ($500,000) and Robert Whittaker ($400,000) will also earn lucrative purse.

Magomed Ankalaev ($300k), Dan Ige ($250k) and Lerrone Murphy ($150k) are some of the other highest earners on the UFC 308 card.

UFC prize money differs event to event. For example, the prize money on offer at UFC 300 was far higher than other recent cards, given the magnitude of the event and the names Dana White had fighting on the bill.

For a card of the calibre of UFC 308, rest assured the total prize money will equate to well over $3 million all in. The majority of which will go solely to the winner of the main event.

Ilia Topuria vs Max Holloway Fight Purses

Both men are expected to receive an individual fight purse, so depending on which man has their hand raised will determine how much the winner receives. This is due to there being several UFC bonuses up for grabs.

Looking at both fighters previous purses, it very much depends on who wins as to who will be paid more. Yes, Ilia Topuria is set to earn a career-high salary of $750,000 base, but this could inflate to around $2 million if he wins.

Similarly, Max Holloway’s base salary of $500,000 will also inflate to well over the $1 million mark if he pulls off the upset. Both are huge names in their own right. Topuria is of course a rising star and still very much at the beginning of his UFC journey. Holloway on the other hand is a UFC stalwart and legend of the sport.

As previously mentioned, this purse for ‘El Matador’ is set to be the biggest of his career. His biggest to date of course was late time out against Alexander Volkanovski, where he earned $532k all in. He could earn over triple that on Saturday night if he beats Holloway.

For the challenger, ‘Blessed’ has earned several seven figure paydays in his career so far. Some of the biggest of his career are $1,050,000 against Brian Ortega, around $2 million combined from the three Volkanovski bouts and several others of $300,000+ over the years. All in all, Max Holloway has earned around $8 million purely in the UFC.

Both men are in for big pay days and both thoroughly deserve it. Whoever has their hand raised with the UFC Featherweight Title around their waist after the fight, will be the man who has earned the most UFC 308 prize money.
