Who Will Be The Next Arsenal Manager?
Managing a club like Arsenal will always come with high expectations – they are one of the best sides in the Premier League and Europe, plus employ some of the most talented players in the world.
Therefore, with just one bit of silverware (2020 FA Cup) since Mikel Arteta took over as Arsenal manager in December 2019, some are suggesting a change at the helm with this average record.
Arsenal made a fair start to their 2024/25 campaign, but have faltered since – and have now also been knocked out of the Champions League by PSG at the semi-final stage.
All this is adding to the pressure on Arteta – a few more Arsenal defeats and you feel fans might come ‘gunning’ for him.
With that in mind, the best football betting sites in the UK have updated their next Arsenal manager odds market – and there’s a whole host of big names on it.
Simone Inzaghi The Favourite To Replace Mikel Arteta
Former top striker and now Inter Milan head coach Simone Inzaghi is the name topping the next Arsenal manager odds market at 2/1.
Inzaghi has been in charge at Inter since 2021, having been snapped up after impressing at Lazio.
His contract with Inter runs until 2025 and having guided Inter to the Serie A title in 2023-24 is a name that’s been linked with a whole host of top European football sides – including Arsenal.
Could Arsenal Turn To A Barcelona Legend?
Should Arsenal replace Mikel Arteta, then there are two former legendary Barcelona players, who also managed the club.
Two players that Arteta played with at international level – Xavi and Luis Enrique – are also figuring high up the list with the best betting sites in the UK in the next Arsenal manager odds market.
Since hanging up their playing boots – like Arteta – the pair have impressed in their roles as head coaches. Xavi was at Barcelona between 2021 and 2024, and was in charge of 142 games – winning 89.
He was, however, released by Barcelona after some key defeats in May 2024 and is now a free agent.
Luis Enrique has experience as an international manager, having taken charge of Spain, and he is another head coach that has Barcelona links – having been their manager between 2014-17.
He’s been in charge of Paris Saint-Germain since July 2023. He won the domestic treble at the French club in his first season and also reached the Champions League semi-finals, making him one of the hottest managerial properties in Europe.
It would be ironic – seeing as PSG were the ones that ended Arsenal’s 2024/25 season.
Andoni Iraola Also Prominent In The Next Arsenal Manager Market
Another Spaniard who is among the contenders in the next Arsenal manager odds market is Andoni Iraola at 10/1.
Iraola has a host of irers after getting Bournemouth in contention for a place in Europe next season. He has also led them to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.
He is under contract until the end of next season and Bournemouth owner Bill Foley has said they want Iraola to sign an extension. But one would think that the chance to manage Arsenal would tempt him to leave the South Coast club.
Commentary: sportscasting.com/uk spokesman Andy Newton reacted to our ‘Arsenal Manager Odds’ saying:
“With just one trophy during his time at Arsenal, many Gunners fans are saying this is Mikel Arteta’s ‘make or break’ season.
“With their league challenge over, and now being dumped out of the Champions League – the pressure is ramping up on Arteta.
“If he does leave, there are many top European names high up on the list that could be waiting in the wings – with Italian coach Simone Inzaghi being deemed the most likely by our traders.”
